In a proactive endeavour to empower the future minds of technology, the CSSL GenZ Chapter at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University organized a highly successful awareness session on the 4th of May 2022. Hosted at the Southern Campus, the event catered specifically to the undergraduates of the Faculty of Computing, offering them a unique opportunity to delve into the world of information technology and computer science. Guided by the expertise of Dr. Nirosha Wedasinghe, a distinguished senior lecturer in the Faculty of Computing and the esteemed patron of the KDU CSSL GenZ Chapter, the session proved to be an enlightening experience for all attendees. Dr. Wedasinghe's wealth of knowledge and passion for the subject provided a compelling backdrop for the exploration of crucial concepts and industry insights.

The agenda of the awareness session encompassed a comprehensive introduction to the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) and the invaluable role it plays within the IT society of Sri Lanka. The discussion emphasized the significance of CSSL in fostering professional development, networking opportunities, and staying abreast of the latest technological advancements in the ever-evolving field of information technology. A pivotal segment of the event was the introduction of the present board members of the CSSL GenZ Chapter at KDU. This presentation allowed attendees to familiarize themselves with the individuals steering the chapter and gain insights into the diverse skill sets and experiences that contribute to its success. The transparency in showcasing the current leadership fosters a sense of community and connection among the members.

Moreover, the session facilitated the seamless registration process for new memberships, encouraging fresh minds to become active participants in the dynamic CSSL GenZ community. This initiative not only broadens the chapter's reach but also ensures the continuous influx of innovative ideas and perspectives.
